Ballad of the Warrior Maiden
 
Rianna lives in Celtic Ireland at the turn of the first century.  When her mother dies, she runs away to avoid an arranged marriage.  Teaming up with a Nordic skald, story teller, she makes her way across Ireland as a singer.  She and Ivar find their way into trouble and sail to his homeland of Norway.  There, Rianna is not accepted by the village women until she defends them from raiders while the men are away.
 
When Ivar's nephew Erik is falsly accused of a murder and outlawed from Norway, Rianna joins him, Ivar and a crew.  They sail to Ireland then Icland where Rianna discovers scrolls that hold a link to her to her missing uncle.  He had joined three viking  ships and had sailed to a land far to the south.  There was only one survivor of that journy left in Iceland.
 
Rianna learns from the man that her uncle remained behind with the treasure after the natives destroyed two of the ships and crippled one.  The lone survivor gives Rianna a map and a sunstone for navigation.  Using the treasure as bait she convinces the Vikings to sail to this far land.  Not long after they arrive the they find themselves captured by natives who practiced human sacrifice on an alter high atop a pyramid.

Onyx Owl
 
Teresa uses her wits more than weapons to battle her foe.  Caught in the act of stealing, she agrees to join an old retired Spanish soldier, to rescue victims sentenced by the Inquisition to die.  She learns her partner is the Oyx Owl who is wanted by both the church and the Spanish authorities. 
 
Using a web of deceit, she incorperates herself into the Spanish court and befriends the foe.  Because of this she and the Onyx Owl are able to save many unfortunate prisoners from a death by fire.  When their enemy, Eastban, discovers what they are doing, Teresa and the Onyx Owl flee to the New World.  But Estaban is not far behind.

Spanish Waters
 
Catana's home is bombarded by French cannon fire.  She lives in what is known today as Pensacola Florida.  The Spanish hold the small fortress and settlement Santa Maria de Galva, but the French want to take posession.
 
When the Spanish lose the battle, Catana and her friend Louis are forced to flee to the Caribbean in a stolen Spanish sloop.  They encounter two men shipwrecked on an island who join them.  Sailing to Cuba they find trouble in the ports of Havana and Santiego de Cuba.  They continue on to Port Royal where they alinate a British Captain who puts a price on their heads.  To remain on the defensive Catana and the men of the Seahawk 'go on account' and become pirates.  They must find a way to femain free and claim the land promised to them by Governor Woodes Rogers, a man who has swarn to eradicate piracy in the Caribbean.
